General Manoj Pandey was the 29th Army Chief of the country. He took over as the Army Chief on 30 April 2022. Upendra Dwivedi became the 30th Army Chief

Now Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi is going to take charge in his place. On the night of June 11, the central government appointed Upendra Dwivedi as the new Army Chief. Lieutenant General Dwivedi is now the 30th Army Chief of the country. General Dwivedi took charge as Vice Chief of Army Staff on February 19, after which he was announced to be made the Army Chief on the night of June 11. Before becoming the Army Chief, Upendra Dwivedi has served the country as Vice Chief of Army, DG Infantry, Northern Army Commander and Chief of many commands in the Army.
